Kaveri water is very much affected and polluted with transition metal ions due to this attrocity, people drinking kaveri water at this site will get many diseases and teh life time shrinks to at least 10 years. Nothing can be done except the Cheif Ministers stops it, the sand is going to Kerala and Karnataka state who deny water to us that is another sad event.
